Medicare Audit Alert!

            You may be subject to an on-going Medicare audit and not realize it. If you fail to respond to a medical records request letter from “CERT DC” within the specified time period of 30 days, your claims under review will be denied and may result in fraud referral.
            Be prepared. Promptly review all mail received from Medicare, CMS, First Coast Service Options or especially CERT DC. Go back through mail beginning in August for any missed letters.

ACA: Action Needed to Stop Medicare Fee Cuts Before November 30

 In its latest member publication, the ACA issued a Call to Action to DC’s nationwide concerning Medicare fee cuts. The ACA stated: “In late June, Congress passed legislation to delay until Nov. 30 the proposed 21 percent Medicare Fee Schedule decrease for 2010. 

CMS Announces Freeze on Implementation of ICD-10

 The ICD-10 codes will not be fully implemented until 2013.
