While Florida has now put laws on the books regarding hemp derived CBD and the ability to use, sell, or distribute CBD containing .3% THC, it may be some time before the State regulations are fully in place.  Until the laws and regulations work themselves through the system, we suggest you proceed cautiously with your CBD products.  Because those CBD products containing THC may show positive in a drug test for those using CBD, the FCA has created a helpful Informed Consent tool to provide your patients.  To those in the U.S. Military, Government employees, some athletes and some employers, a positive drug test may prove devastating to a career.  Advising your CBD treating patients of the possible risks, to them and/or to their employers, makes good sense.  Read on for access to a CBD Informed Consent form. 

Wednesday, August 7, 2019, Tallahassee – A proposal seeking to end the ability to claim a religious exemption from Florida law governing school-entry health vaccination requirements was pre-filed on Friday, August 2nd. State Senator Lauren Book (D-Miami) is the sponsor of Senate Bill 64 which would be considered during the Florida Legislature’s 2020 Session, scheduled to convene January 14, 2020.

ACA reported on Thursday afternoon that legislation to increase Medicare coverage of chiropractic services has been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives. Championed by ACA and introduced by Reps. Brian Higgins (D-N.Y.) and Tom Reed (R-N.Y.), the Chiropractic Medicare Coverage Modernization Act of 2019 defines doctors of chiropractic as physicians under the Medicare program and allows DCs to bill Medicare for the full scope of services allowed by their state license.
