May 19, 2020 is National ChiroCares Giving Back Day. Through this initiative, the Florida Chiropractic Association, ChiroCongress and members of chiropractic state associations across the nation are encouraged to organize and participate in different events that give back to their local communities during the global COVID-19 pandemic.
“A National ChiroCares Giving Back Day not only symbolizes the power of positivity within the chiropractic profession, but it further exemplifies the commitment our doctors of chiropractic demonstrate as healthcare providers and pillars of their communities, ready and willing to help those who are in need,” said Dr. Brian Bickerton, FCA President. “Let’s work together in the state of Florida to strengthen and rebuild our communities, while enhancing healthcare and quality of life for those who are in need.”
To help boost positivity, compassion and general well-being in our local communities throughout the state, the FCA encourages its members to plan a Virtual Food Drive to take place, and/or to continue past, May 19, 2020.
May 19, 2020 marks the first-ever ChiroCares annual event, as established by ChiroCongress, a national organization representing state chiropractic associations across the U.S. and in Puerto Rico. Moving forward, every May 19th will be designated as National ChiroCares Giving Back Day as a way for doctors of chiropractic to help those in their local communities.
Dr. Bickerton challenged, “If you choose to participate in this event, and we hope you do, we have marketing resources that have been generously provided by the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress and ChiroCongress for you to utilize to help announce and launch your community event. Here’s to a bright and healthy future for the chiropractic profession, and the communities in which we serve.”
Statistics for your Virtual Food Drive Campaign:
- Your impact: $1 = 10 meals
- Every dollar you give can provide at least 10 meals to families in need through the Feeding America network of food banks.
- Fundraising can give the highest return for your effort. Food drives can raise 700 pounds per distribution location — roughly 583 meals. Conversely, raising and donating $700 to your local food bank would translate to 2100 meals.
