Dear CE Makeup Weekend Registrant,
The CE Makeup Weekend is still scheduled to begin this afternoon. Be assured that proactive steps are being taken to help prevent the spread of coronavirus. We have expanded our meeting space to allow for more sparse seating to give more personal space and the guidelines below are being adhered to. We appreciate the assistance of Rosen Shingle Creek in this regard. And we want to share the latest information available: See new developments in the Refund Policies section below.
As of this writing, no outbreaks have been reported in Orange County, Florida. Of the 50 cases of the Florida coronavirus, 42 are Florida residents; 5 are Florida cases repatriated (came into Florida from another country); and 3 are non-Florida residents. http://www.floridahealth.gov/diseases-and-conditions/COVID-19/index.html. As reported earlier this week, we are working directly with the Rosen hotel who already has its coronavirus action plan in place as reflected in its statement inserted here:
At Rosen Hotels & Resorts we take the health and safety of our guests and associates seriously. We are closely monitoring the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization’s statements regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases and following the guidelines from these agencies as well as local health departments and medical professionals.
Our housekeeping departments clean with alcohol-based disinfectants. Items cleaned in public spaces and guestrooms include phones, remotes, and touch points. Hand sanitizer dispensers accessible to guests are located in all of our public spaces and lobbies.
We have provided our managers with details of the CDC guidelines to share with their associates during pre-shift meetings. Managers will ask associates to stay home when they are sick. Additionally, we have communicated directly to all associates regarding the necessity of safe hand washing and hygiene practices.
The CDC’s Prevention & Treatment guidelines provide travelers with the best methods of protecting themselves against possible infection. (See CDC bullet points below.)
Promote the daily practice of everyday preventive actions. For those coming to Orlando for CE Makeup, we ask that everyone promote everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 as recommended by the CDC, which include:
• Stay home when you are sick, except to get medical care.
• Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
• Carry hand sanitizer and don’t shake hands
• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
• Clean frequently touched surfaces and objects daily.
We ask that anyone attending the event who may begin to have symptoms of COVID-19, which include fever, cough, and shortness of breath, should seek medical advice promptly by calling ahead to a doctor’s office or emergency room to get guidance.
Refund Policies: If you or a family member has taken ill, the FCA has a refund policy to permit participants the flexibility to stay home if you are sick, need to care for sick household members, or are at high risk for complications from COVID-19. We learned yesterday that a call of the Board of Chiropractic Medicine is scheduled for next week, to discuss special considerations for the current situation of the coronavirus and the licensure biennium ending March 31. We cannot speculate as to what action might be taken, but, thought you should be aware that topic is being considered by the BOCM. Attendance at this event is a personal decision and we want you to have all of the information available to us.
