Our Insurance Liaison office receives numerous calls requesting that we approve advertisements and/or recommend wording for advertisement.  We cannot approve any advertisement by a chiropractic office, nor can we tell you what you should or should not say in an ad.  What we can do, however, is offer the following.

Biomedical Waste Permits You May Need One

A chiropractor that generates more than twenty-five pounds of biomedical waste during each 30-day period is required by Florida Statute to apply for a permit from the Department of Health. Doctors generating some but less than twenty-five pounds during each 30-day period are entitled to apply for an exemption from permitting. Chiropractors who do not generate any biomedical waste need not apply for an exemption.

When a graduate of chiropractic college or a chiropractor licensed in another state applies for Florida licensure, they are required to complete the Florida Laws and Rules examination.  Some of the questions that are frequently asked are:

How much does the exam cost?
What do I need to bring to the exam?
What material should I study for the exam?

Copy Charges for Medical Records

A new rule adopted by the Board of Chiropractic Medicine on cost of reproduction of medical records became effective March 11, 2010.  See item (3) below.  These are NOT required charges, but maximum allowed charges. The text of the rule is as follows:
