The Bottom Line on Latest Misinformation Campaign
Wednesday, 30 January 2013
A certain faction continues to misrepresent to the chiropractic community because of an internal Florida Medical Association memorandum that FMA-sponsored legislation has been filed to remove use of the term “doctor” from chiropractic physicians. In fact, there is no such legislation at this time. For years and decades, the AMA and its affiliated state medical associations have had a stated legislative goal to limit use of the term doctor. For years, both the ACA and FCA have referenced such intentions of organized medicine. The intention is not new.

More Conjecture and Bad Information: The FCPA's Latest Misstep
Thursday, 24 January 2013
On Tuesday of this week yet another piece of misinformation - potentially a damaging one - was broadcast by Roderic Lacy, the self-appointed leader of a faction calling itself the FCPA. The e-mail message suggested that the Florida Medical Association was proposing legislation which would "remove the title doctor from chiropractors in Florida."

Mindboggling statistic on musculoskeletal conditions and disability worldwide
Wednesday, 19 December 2012
Influential global alliance calls on governments and the World Health Organization to prioritize musculoskeletal and spinal health following findings of “The Global Burden of Disease Study 2010”

The Bone and Joint Decade (BJD), the only organization that brings together stakeholders considering all musculoskeletal conditions, and the World Federation of Chiropractic, a BJD member representing the chiropractic profession, issued a news release (download pdf below) on December 14th calling for urgent action to “keep people moving” and reduce the burden of disability. Musculoskeletal conditions are the second greatest cause of disability globally.

More Association Bashing: FCA President Responds To Rod Lacy
Friday, 07 December 2012
I wanted to take a few moments to respond to the latest email from Rod Lacy.  Early in my career, I purchased a pre-printed marketing package from a then, popular vendor and I ran the recommended advertising campaign without proofreading or editing.  I quickly found out that exaggerated advertising can land you in front of the Board of Chiropractic Medicine.  I took complete responsibility for my advertising infraction and paid my fine, which closed the case.  I took it as a lesson learned the hard way, obviously a lesson that Rod Lacy has yet to learn.  Rod Lacy  has now been in front of the Florida Board of Chiropractic Medicine on four separate violations of Florida law since 1997, and his license is currently suspended with unpaid fines still due to the State of Florida and it wasn’t just about a hemorrhoid treatment.  View the disciplinary records below.  Is Rod Lacy the person that DCs seeking drug rights really want as the face of our profession?

Continued Association Bashing
Thursday, 06 December 2012
For over a year now – since a dilapidated white ice cream truck circled the Peabody during the 2011 FCA National Convention – repeated email attacks have been pointed at the FCA.  A DC whose Florida license was suspended in 2009 has spewed forth hundreds of emails to chiropractors across the country, proclaiming that he thinks chiropractic is dying, pointing the finger at all sorts of organizations and individuals as being to blame, and exhorting one and all that the Big Answer to all of life’s problems is “full chiropractic prescriptive drug rights.”  The FCA has chosen largely not to respond to these attacks, not wanting to waste your resources on mudslinging.  We chose to take the high ground and not stoop to his level of accusations.  Some FCA members have asked us why we are not responding to his half-truths, innuendos and outright fabrications.  So, we have decided to explain.
