The new health care reform law enacted by Congress (Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act) requires health insurance plans to adhere to a broad new set of consumer protections. However, some health insurance plans will be allowed to “escape” having to provide these new consumer-friendly protections because they will be granted what is called “grandfathered” status under recently released regulations.
The chiropractic Summit (representing ACA, ICA, ACC, COCSA and other national chiropractic groups) has issued its unified statement regarding national Health Care Reform and outlining the next steps in the profession’s goal to “make sure that doctors of chiropractic are fully woven into the fabric of the law.”

The FCA administrative headquarters in Orlando is relocating to new, larger facilities at Remington Road in Oakland, Florida, 10 miles west of its current location. The building is situated near to the Highway 50 entrance to the Florida Turnpike. Phone and e-mail access will be down for the move from Thursday, April 15 through Monday, April 19. Effective February 8th, following legal review and consideration by the FCA Board of Directors, the FCA agreed to participate in the ChiroHealthUSA State Association Pledge Program. After a thorough review of plan documents and filings with the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR), FCA General Counsel Paul Lambert observed, “The ChiroHealthUSA discount card plan has passed legal muster by some of the most knowledgeable insurance lawyers of the National Association of Chiropractic Attorneys.”
